It's ok to cry...

During a time when we are asked to go against our human nature for the well being of ourselves and others....

It's ok to cry.

Why?

Because it is hard to watch the news and hear about death tolls rising

Why?

Because it is hard to see our local businesses close and wonder if they will ever be able to reopen

Why?

Because it is hard to hear our children ask why they cannot see their friends

Why?

Because it is hard to be with our children 24/7

Why?

Because it is hard to see our teens lock themselves in their rooms all day long

Why?

Because it is hard to see our years of hard work gradually dissipate

Why?

Because our high school seniors are not getting the senior year they deserve

Why?

Because it is hard to see your loved ones pass away before their time

Why?

Because you can't find toilet paper or lysol

Why?

Because you had to cancel a wedding, bar/bat mitzvah or travel plans

Why?

Because you can't give or receive hugs and kisses from loved ones who do not live with us

Why?

Because it is hard to smile, breathe or feel human behind the masks you are required to wear

Why?

Because you feel alone

Why?

Because you want to be left alone

Why?

Because you need a haircut

Why?

Because you do not feel safe

Why?

It doesn't matter why. Cry for any reason or no reason at all. All reasons are valid.

Why?

Maybe it's just because you feel sad, scared, overwhelmed or anxious. Just cry because you need to.

Why?

Cry because you can, cry because you are human and human is how we need to feel right now.

I give you permission to release and reset.

Some days I give myself permission to cry, today I give myself permission to feel joy.

I give you permission to feel human too.

Be safe

Be kind to yourself and others

Be human
